There are few historical records of these people who have survived. In medieval times it was possible Aguilar village as with its neighbors Rebolledo and the inertia of Valdavia Pomar. In the church was included in the vicariate of Aguilar, itself dependent on the diocese of Burgos.

ARCHITECTURE 

The parish church of the inertia Renedo one cruise ship and not come to join the group called by Garcia Guinea as churches of the council. 

In this building reforms can be seen at various times whose chronology is difficult to pin down.Strictly Romanesque, late XII, we can consider the header and the belfry, as the ship is divided into two sections, is already covered with vault with tiercerons. The header consists of a semicircular apse covered with oven and chancel vault with a pointed barrel vault springing from an impost of nacelle. The triumphal arch, also pointed and bent, is based on twin columns and bases of tabs. 

On the outside, the apse has two rectangular buttresses reach the ledge thus divided into three vertical panels. In the central open a window blind today-in arch supported by columns. A sill height fascia runs a cavetto that embraces the entire perimeter apse. 

The north wall had to suffer a crash that forced rebuild masonry in uncertain times. 

At the foot of the temple stands the belfry with two windows and finish straight. A line indicates trim fascia and the drip of the arches. 

The entrance to the church is through a porch added on the side of the cover letter that encompasses a very remade with a pointed arch. 

SCULPTURE

The sculptural decoration of the temple is located in the apse window, the columns of the triumphal arch and corbels of the cornice. 

The window consists of two archivolts beater rods in between columns resting on crochet hooks provided, similar to the inertia and Rebolledo Matalbaniega. 

The triumphal arch is supported by paired columns topped by capitals sides doubles. On the left is decorated with crochets and human heads, while the right one does it with another head between motifs. 

As for the corbels, the majority are nacelle, however, find any rolls, staggered rectangles and bow of boat.
